Stephen King and Peter Straub Collaborating on Third Talisman Novel - Dread CentralIn an interview with Miami Herald Peter Straub talks about the third book in The Talisman series and it looks like we won't see it in atleas a couple of years I certainly hope so. We were supposed to start it three or four years ago, but I had medical problems that stopped me in my tracks. He kept a scrapbook about it and so did I, him in Maine and me in Milwaukee. It has a lot of juice in it, and he and I both feel that way about it, so we are eager to do this book.

It's like two-thirds of a long, and the other part really should be done, and can stand straug - though you will get much more out of this if you are familiar with Jack's history. It is a great book. The plot is not related to that of Walter Scott 's novel of the same name , although there is one oblique reference to "a Sir Walter Scott novel. Jack Sawyer, twelve years old, sets out from Arcadia Beach, New Hampshire in a bid to save his mother, who is dying from cancer , by finding a crystal called "the Talisman. Individuals in the Territories have "twinners," or parallel individuals, in our world. Twinners' births, deaths, and it is intimated other major life events are usually paralleled. Twinners can also "flip" or migrate to the other world, but only share the body of their alternate universe 's analogue. When flipped, the Twinner, or the actual person, will automatically start speaking and thinking the language of where they are flipping into subconsciously. In rare instances such as Jack's , a person may die in one world but not the other, making the survivor "single-natured" with the ability to switch back and forth, body and mind, between the two worlds.
I hate that the first thing you see of a review is the number of stars it's given? No chapters. It came from the same stock, a five star book is a book that I believe is worth the time and energy you're going to spend reading it. Question I recently read an interview in which Peter Straub said there will be a third book in the Talisman series. For me, but it's not friendly or altogether sane.
